Once Arrow had done the survey and taken our details the rest was handled by Evolve, including the installation. This wasn't immediately obvious at the time of ordering the insulation, but in the grand scheme of things it didn't really make much difference – it just added an extra link to the communication chain.There was a frustratingly long delay between having the survey carried out (4th November) and the insulation being fitted (10th February), but this was almost entirely due to the speed the Green Homes Grant voucher was issued. It didn't help that Evolve were the ones handling the voucher application as they were very slow to respond to enquiries, unlike Andrew from Arrow who almost always replied to my emails on the same day.Overall Evolve seemed to do a good job of installing the wall insulation (it's hard to see it as it's all inside our walls!) and seemed knowledgeable and experienced in the process. This is a big decision, with lots of horror stories out there, so I spent almost a year thinking and researching before deciding that EPS bonded beads were the only solution, I'd entertain putting into my cavity walls. I then had to find a company I could trust. There are lots of bad companies out there, with (in my opinion) only a few good ones "locally" that I considered. Arrow seemed to fit the bill with good reviews and prompt responses from Andrew to some of my concerns and awkward questions. Arrow certainly aren't cheap, but I wanted it done right, and Dan & Frank gave me confidence that they'd done a good job on the install. Cement fill to drill holes is a pretty good match and will probably fade in even more over time (already very hard to spot), and having measured temperatures for several weeks prior to install (inside and outside), I can say for sure that there is a real improvement - particularly the internal side of external walls, where the temperatures now match the improved room temperature (rather than one to two degrees C lower than room temperature before the install).
