How Positive Input Ventilation PIV Works
In 1972, Nuaire invented a cure for condensation dampness in residential properties and its associated problems. Nearly 50 years later, Nuaire’s innovative strategy - Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) - is the UK’s most popular method of low-energy whole home ventilation.
Nuaire’s market- leading Drimaster-Eco range is designed for 2 and 3 storey homes with lofts, while the Flatmaster is designed for flats, apartments and basements. Both ranges are cost-effective and easy to maintain, making them an ideal solution for both new build and retro-fit applications.
PIV is a fit-and-forget technology that requires minimal energy to run and minimum effort to maintain. The PIV works by gently introducing fresh, filtered air into the dwelling ensuring that old, contaminated moisture laden air is continuously diluted, displaced and replaced with good quality air. The result is improved air quality and a healthy living environment in which condensation cannot exist.
Ideal for Repairs and Maintenance
Without adequate ventilation, the moisture produced by washing, cooking and bathing remains trapped inside. Modern lifestyles, energy-efficiency measures such as wall and loft insulation, and the rise in energy prices all contribute to the problem. Added to this indoor pollutants such as burning fuel, using cleaning and beauty products create an environment that can be harmful to our health. The Drimaster-Eco range provides a long-term solution that is easy to install in existing homes and uses very little energy.
Cost-effective Ventilation for New Build Projects
Positive Input Ventilation is a popular method of ventilating new build homes. This ventilation strategy is supported by a BBA certificate and recognised as an alternative method within building regulations. The Drimaster-Eco range is an extremely cost effective ventilation solution that offers unique benefits when installing and commission the units. PIV is also recognised as a method of reducing harmful levels of radon gas levels in affected areas.
